Hartz dog shampoo caused serious skin eruptions in both my dogs.
This happened about a month ago. Hartz asked me to return the product but I had already returned it to Walmart along with my severe criticism of this dangerous product.
According to UL Prospector, a cosmetic industry resource, "The explosion in demand for Methylisothiazolinone directly translated into a significant increase of the prevalence of skin sensitization to this allergen in the general population." (human) and: "This increase did not go unnoticed by the European Authorities, who banned Methylisothiazolinone (alone or in mixture with Methylchloroisothiazolinone)." Hartz dog shampoo, I have learned, contains these two dangerous preservatives. In my opinion (I am a cosmetic chemist) Hartz should remove this product from the market until it is reformulated.
Reason of review: unsafe product.
Monetary Loss: $60.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Hartz Cons: Damage this has caused to my pets, Caused skin lesions to my dogs.
